                                                      What is an Ordinary Chinese Student’s Real Feelings? 

I have been in England almost four years and my views have been widely opened. There is much more freedom expressing your own feelings, ideas, religions, criticisms and even judgements to anything and anyone in here.  At the first few months in here, I did feel really excited to know so many things, which you rarely hear in mainland China, through the public media in TV, Internet, newspaper and radio. After a while, I was suddenly confused and lost because for the same news and the same public people, there are so many different voices or opinions in the public media, and I do not know which one is telling the truth, especially for something I have never heard before. Therefore, I asked my English friends for some personal advises, however, again different English friends have different views and finally they told something which progressively changed my feelings about their or western public media. They said to me, “Do not worry about which one is true in the newspaper or internet, just either pick one you think is right and interesting or do not believe it. Remember it is your freedom and right to choose and express your own believes.” I was really surprised to hear that because I always think it is important to know what I have read or heard is correct and the news in the public media should be right and just, otherwise some people may be misunderstanding or misleading.

The longer time I stayed in here, the more I have realised that western people pay too much attention to their own or individual freedom and human rights however it seems to be they do not realise or have any responsibility what they expressed in public media. Of course it is great to have more freedom and human rights but at the same time that also means more responsibility! Personally, I feel really sad when I am not sure the news whether what I read in the newspaper or internet is right or not, which should be fair and unbiased. Recently, I feel really disappointed what I have read and heard in the news about Boycott China Olympic Game and Free Tibet as there is not Freedom and Human Rights in China. I am a Chinese from mainland China and I believe I have freedom and my human rights to express my feelings about these distorted and unfair media.

It is your freedom to express your feelings but do not distorting the facts and evidences. As we all know to put the criminals into jail we need lots of facts and evidences to prove they did break the laws. As you said there is not freedom and human rights in China, what are your evidences? Are you a Chinese who has lived in China for a long time? Have you ever been to China, especially Tibet? Do you know anything about Chinese history, especially the slavery system in Tibet when Dalai Lama was in Leader in Tibet? Could you understand Chinese language? If you do not know anything about China, how dare you stand here to judge and against China? I am a Chinese and all family are Chinese and we all are living really happy in China! If you still want to destroy our loving peaceful life, I have to impolitely say “It is none of your business! You are not Chinese and Leave my country alone!” So please go to China and ask many different ages of Chinese and you will find the answers.

It is well known that China a developing country and as a Chinese I know there are still so many bad things and have to be improved soon in China but it needs some time and I am really happy what Chinese government has already done! China now has about 1.3 billion people in the mainland with about 5000 years complex history- from separating to unity and to separating to unity and so on, which all done by lots of wars. What I can say is to control that many Chinese people are extremely difficult! We love peace and do not want any kinds of wars in China, which depends on a unity and peaceful country. Please do not separate and against our country for our sake!

Please respect our human rights and support China to hold the great Olympic Game this year, which is not the political show-off of Chinese government, it is the dream for 1.3 billion Chinese in mainland China as well as Chinese around the world, and it the best opportunity for the open communications between China to western countries, so if you have any questions or problems about China, do please come to my country! Problems can be not solved by disagreement and against each other; the best solution is the basic communication!

Finally to my Christian brothers and sisters please do not judge us as Our Lord, Jesus Christ say to us in Luke Chapter 6 verse 37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will be not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you.” If you really care about freedom and human rights, and most important thing Christianity growing in China, Please praying for us: more freedom to talk and preach the Holy Bible and our Lord, Jesus Christ, no violence, no prejudice, no media distortion, people respects, forgives and loves one another! When We were Poor, You think we are dogs. When We Loan you cash, You blame us for your debts. When We build our industries, You called us Polluters. When we sell you goods, You blame us for global warming. When We buy oil, You called that exploitation and Genocide. When You fight for oil, You called that Liberation. When We were lost in Chaos and rampage, You wanted Rules of Law for us. When We uphold law and order against Violence, You called that Violating Human Rights. When We were silent, You said you want us to have Free Speech. When We were silent no more, You say we were Brainwashed-Xenophobic.

Why do you hate us so much? We asked. No, You Answered, We don’t hate You. We don’t Hate You either, But Do you understand us? Of course We do, You said, We have AFP, CNN and BBCs What do you really want from us? Think Hard first
